Ayatollah Abdullah Kazemeyni[1] (Persian: عبدالله کاظمینی) is the Ayatollah of Twelver Shi'a Islam and the supreme leader of Iran. During the episode Foisted! of Season 9, he issued a fatwa calling for the death of Larry David after the latter's announcement of the musical Fatwa!. The Ayatollah called David's actions "blasphemy" and called for "all valid Muslims" to kill David "wherever they may be".[1] The Ayatollah later rescinded the fatwa after David and Morsi's conversation with the Muftis.
Parts of the directly translated fatwa were: "No one would dare insult the Sacred belief of Muslims, and disparage our Owner... So, I call all valid Muslims, wherever they may be, to kill Larry David without delay, and whoever may die in this cause be a martyr. Even if Larry David repents, he'd be condemned to death. Even if Larry David converts to Islam, he should still be sent to Hell."[1]
